At a lot of churches, children are asked to sit still and be quiet. We took out the pews.

From the moment they arrive on Sunday morning, kids have room to be fully present in the life of the congregation. During the service, children participate in worship alongside everyone else until the children’s message, when they are invited to head to Sunday School. On the first Sunday of each month, children stay for the full service to share in communion with the congregation.

For families who want to worship together from start to finish, our Prayground is always open. We cleared out several pews to make space for a table stocked with activities, crayons, and things to do. It is a little lively back there, and we think that is just right.

After worship, the conversation continues over coffee while the kids make the most of our playground out back.

Sunday School

Sunday School runs most weeks during the program year, following the children’s message during the worship service. Our nursery is open every Sunday with a paid, background-checked caregiver for our youngest guests.

Messy Church

On the first Sunday of each month, we gather from 3:00 to 5:00 PM for Messy Church, an afternoon program built around high energy and low structure. There is a lot of movement, a lot of activities, and very little sitting still required. Families from our congregation and from the broader community come together, and kids who need space to move and explore tend to love it. They almost always want to come back.

Vacation Bible School

Each July we host Vacation Bible School for children in the congregation and the community.

Back to School Bash

Each year we close down the block and throw a Back to School Bash for the whole community, partnering with local businesses to distribute thousands of school supplies to families who need them. It is one of the ways we try to be a church that shows up for the neighborhood, not just for the people who sit in our pews.
